Our Story
Perdue Marine has been a trusted name in the boating community for over 50 years. It all began in the early 1970s when Henry “Hank” Perdue started buying and selling boats in Freeport, Illinois. Hank’s love for boating and his entrepreneurial spirit led him to recognize an opportunity — the growing community at Lake Carroll needed a reliable, customer-focused marine business.
Hank and his wife Ruth decided to move closer to the largest private residential lake in Illinois — Lake Carroll — to provide boaters with the high-quality service and products they needed. They purchased a home at Lake Carroll and soon relocated Perdue Marine from Freeport to Lake Carroll, building a brand-new facility on Zier Road.
As the lake community grew, so did Perdue Marine. Hank and his son Chad worked tirelessly to expand the business, meeting the increasing demand for boats, marine equipment, and expert service. From the beginning, personal attention and superior customer care have been at the heart of Perdue Marine’s business.

New Horizons
As Perdue Marine continued to grow, Ruth joined the company full-time, helping with administrative work to streamline customer service and operations. The family legacy continued when their daughter, Laura Geiken, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), took on the role of office manager, ensuring that the business maintained its high standards of professionalism and customer care.
